Replacing or remodeling kitchen cabinets?

Do you shudder when you walk into your kitchen? Do you feel like no matter how much you clean and scrub, it never looks right? It may be time to make some changes to your kitchen, and you may want to start with the cabinets. Basically, you have two options when it comes to changing your cabinets, either complete cabinet replacement or simply refinishing your cabinets.

You can replace your cabinets with a wide variety of options. The first option would be through the stock cabinets. These cabinets can be purchased at the store and are easy to assemble and install, but there isn’t much leeway when it comes to customizing. Materials may also be limited. Your second option for cabinet replacement would be semi-custom cabinets. These cabinets can also be purchased but come with more options. You may be able to add a little more custom look to your kitchen without breaking the bank. Or you can make cabinets fully customizable, which means you choose the material, design, and overall look of all your kitchen cabinets. This method, of course, is the most expensive method.

Your base cabinets and shelves may be in very good condition and may just need a slight lift and makeover. There are many options when it comes to refinishing your cabinets. You can start by deciding if you can just refinish the wood cabinets or repaint the laminate cabinets you have. Just a small touch of paint can add a whole new look to a kitchen. Adding some new brass or stainless steel handles and knobs can add beauty to your kitchen.

Refinishing your cabinets could also include replacing the exterior cabinet door if you don’t want to deal with the paint. You mainly have three options when it comes to veneering your cabinet doors. You can go for a wood facing that will bring an extra warm feeling to your kitchen, but it costs a bit more. The next option would be the stainless steel fronts. These are for those of you looking for a more modern look when revamping your cabinets. And finally, there are laminate decks, which may be the cheapest, but could still give you the durability of steel and the look of wood facing.
