Madden 13 – Top 3 Features I’m Looking Forward To

With the release of Madden 13 right around the corner, there are plenty of features in this year’s game that I’m looking forward to. Of course, there are many other features that I am also very excited about and want to talk about now. I’m going to talk about the Infinity engine, passing trajectories, along with read and react defensive stats below.

#one. InfinityEngine.

If you’re a Madden nerd like me, you’re probably already aware of the new physics engine in this year’s game. For those of you who don’t know what Infinity Engine is, it’s essentially EA’s version of Natural Motion. We will no longer see an animation-based approaching system. In fact, as far as I know, the only place we’ll see animations in-game is for screenshots.

To be honest, I would have been much more excited about this year’s game if EA had completely removed the animations from the game. My best guess is that EA may have tried to remove the catch animations, but as a result, they were getting some weird catch moves and had to remove it from the engine and re-implement the catch animations. However, the Infinity Engine is number 1 on my list, and there will be new capture animations this year.

#2. Pass trajectories.

This is long overdue, because if you’re like me, you were tired of superman supporters a long time ago. If you are not familiar with this feature, it will allow you to shoot the ball more accurately. Do you want to cast high and out, high and in, low and out, or somewhere else? The better your quarterback, the more accurately you can place the ball in his path.

#3. Reading and defense reaction.

Last but not least, we were all tired of defensive backs mirroring our routes, right? With the new defensive read and react system, defensive backs will first have to look at the receiver and react to what he does. You do realize what this means, don’t you?

We will no longer have to live on the corners. We will not be able to do routes outside, on routes and the infamous loop route. Best of all, for the first time, we will be able to succeed with these routes. This is a huge improvement, and I’m looking forward to it coming to Madden 13.

Resume.

EA is ready to deliver the best Madden game they’ve ever released, but will it flop? That’s the big question. If the Infinity Engine, passing trajectories, read and react defense, along with the other features of Madden 13 work as they should, then this will be a solid game that we’ll want to play all year.
