The list changes from time to time, so it’s a good idea to check with us before purchasing your ink tanks.

3. Is the Kopyjet system NSF certified?

According to the CALIFORNIA STATE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES, National Sanitation Foundation International (NSF) warranty applications contain the only related standards accredited by ANSI. Also according to the CALIFORNIA STATE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES, there are currently no standards, NSF or otherwise, that govern the use of an inkjet printer in food preparation. Therefore, as confirmed in the California Uniform Retail Food Establishment Act, approval for the use of an inkjet printer for food preparation remains at the county level in California and likely at the state level in additional regions.

As determined by this information, there are no national or international health standards or documentation currently designed for an ink jet printer.

Please note the following points: All icing and ink ingredients are FDA approved, all materials that come into contact with the edible part of the merchandise, liner paper, ink cartridges, cartridge refill, and printer rollers are FDA approved.

4. Are my Kolor Kartridges and Frosting Sheets accepted by the FDA and EEC?

No problem.

5. Are Kolor cartridges and icing sheets kosher?

Kolors and the icing sheets are Kosher approved.

6. Can a Macintosh system be used with the Kopyjet system?

Yes. If you use a USB printer and scanner, you can print edible images with Macintosh. However, you must provide your own Macintosh-compatible photo editing software.

7. Why is the system running so slowly?

Regardless of the processor speed of a working computer or laptop, if ever the computer’s RAM is full, processing time will slow down considerably. Saturation of available RAM is often the result of a large image being manufactured while using too much resolution when scanning. The higher the resolution, the larger the image file will be. For example, an 8.5″ x 11″ color photo scanned at 75 dpi takes up approximately 1.6 megabytes (MB). Doubling the resolution to 150 dpi will increase the file size four times, to approximately 6.3 MB. Going to 300 dpi will increase the file size to 26.2 MB!

What you should do then is choose the lowest possible resolution that will still give you satisfactory image quality so that you can keep the file size manageable. The suggestion is that you don’t go above 200dpi unless you need the particular resolution and are knowledgeable about image processing.
