Dental – Orthodontic Marketing – How to Test Your Website SEO on Google – Can Patients Find You?

Can you afford to turn away new patients in today’s economy?

Correct use of keyword HTML code on your orthodontic marketing website is key to driving potential new patients to your website on Google, the only search engine that matters.

Keywords relate to the words and phrases patients type into search engines to find you. It doesn’t matter how good your website is…if new patients can’t find you on Google and Google Maps in your demographic environment…it’s worth nothing. It’s like having a Porsche with a Yugo engine… Your website won’t even be in contention for page one rankings in search engines unless SEO measures are implemented to increase your website’s visibility.

90% or more of dental and orthodontic websites have the wrong keywords. In the last month alone, none of the websites I tested were keyword-optimized correctly and two weren’t even found on Google Maps in their own city… With minor tweaks, both practices were on Google Maps in less than 2 hours and the other practices improved their ranking on Google, in their demographics, almost immediately.

How does your website compare? Here’s a quick test you can run on your website to see if it’s easy to find on Google…

1. Go to Google and in the search box type the keywords of the patient – orthodontist [your city name and state]. Orthodontist is one of the top keywords patients use to search on Google.

2. Does your website appear on the first page of Google? Pay-per-click ads and database advertisers like wellness.com don’t count…just organic left-hand links that click on a page on your website.

3. Does your practice name and website appear correctly on Google Maps?

4. Now do the same thing again… but this time, substitute one by one the names of all the surrounding cities that you want to target new patients in your demographic. Do both your website and Google Maps appear on the first page in these areas?

If not, I suggest you contact me for a free consultation to discuss how we can improve your Page Rank and increase your Internet Marketing presence on Google. If you’re getting good results in your demographic, test your site against other keywords that patients are using to find an orthodontist in your area. Here’s a tip… never use the name of your practice. It is not a keyword patient.

Just changing a few keywords now…could be worth hundreds of thousands of dollars to your practice…in the future. If you’re only reaching 50% of your demographic…not only does this translate to lost potential revenue over the years…it also lowers your click-through rate on Google, which impacts web page rankings. page. Isn’t that worth looking into?
