Ajman is the smallest of the seven emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates (or UAE). The Ajman Museum is also worth a visit. This museum was inaugurated in 1981 and is located in a fort dating from the 16th century. The museum has a strong emphasis on the traditional culture of the region and visitors can see not only ancient artifacts, but also modern reconstructions of traditional Bedouin ways of life, including social and commercial reconstructions. The Ajman museum also houses a large collection of artifacts from the Mowaihat archaeological site.

The Mowaihat archaeological site was discovered by workers laying a sewer pipe in 1986. The site was later excavated as an archaeological site in which various copper implements, numerous beads, various ceramic vessels and human remains, among others, have been unearthed. artifacts. This site was the first site discovered that showed that the area was occupied in the Um al-Nar period.

Ajman’s beaches have long been a traditional tourist attraction as well, Ajman’s climate is superbly suited to beach life. Dolphins are common off the Ajman coast and dolphin watching is a popular recreational activity with tourists and locals alike.

Ajman has a variety of food and eating places, you will find everything from western fast food establishments to high class restaurants and traditional cafes and street vendors. Although Ajman is a Muslim state, alcohol can be bought in restaurants and hotels. This is the norm in most of the United Arab Emirates; Non-Muslims can buy alcohol in hotels and restaurants, although it is generally not possible to buy alcohol outside of these places.

Ajman is experiencing tremendous growth in development, so in the coming years tourism and tourist attractions will grow in number and variety. There are several theme parks and other tourism-related developments currently under construction or in the planning stages. Sports facilities, clubs and venues are also being developed, as well as cultural attractions such as theaters, museums and galleries.
