The greatest danger for children in the 21st century

In the last 30 years, the greatest danger to children has been drugs and alcohol. Substance abuse in general. There’s a new danger, one that lives in every home where a child lives. A danger so cunning that it escapes parents on a daily basis. The Internet.

Every day, children have the opportunity to explore new topics and topics on the Internet. There is a computer in almost every home in the United States. Yet only 2% of all computers in the United States have specific and effective controls on what children have access to. Pornography is the most searched topic on the Internet worldwide. The ease with which a child can access free porn videos is pretty scary.

Let’s say Johnny is 8 years old and today he hears his friend Mike say a new word at school. Johnny, out of curiosity for him, decides to “Google” this new word when he gets home from school. To Johnny’s amazement, the first page of results contains numerous links to free videos. Videos that require nothing more than a click “continue” to bypass the age requirement. Johnny now has access to hundreds, if not thousands, of videos that relate to the word “sexual” that he typed in when searching for him.

This shouldn’t be the introduction to sex that Johnny should get. In the 1950s, it was kids who sneaked into their parents’ closets to see the latest issue of Playboy. Now, his boys like Johnny to “Google” a word and he delves into the world of online pornography.

Dr. Patrick Carnes, the foremost authority on sexual addiction and sexual dysfunction, has stated time and time again that the ease of access and availability of pornography will provide a gateway like we have never seen before for sexual dysfunction in America. and all over the world.

Pornography is free speech as it should be. The first amendment is strong as it should be. Parents should start taking action and installing anti-porn software on their computer before it’s too late. This is not an article saying that pornography is bad or wrong. This is to raise awareness that our kids have the ability to access this not only at home on the computers inside their house, but also on their phones. Sex is everywhere, and our children deal with it daily, if not hourly, wherever they go, whatever they see. It’s not about religion or right or wrong, it’s about being proactive and protecting our children.
