Seven fences that unite us and separate us

There are clear parallels between many spiritual, religious, and mystical teachings on the creation, purpose, and function of the Universe. Because it can be difficult to trust a text written thousands of years ago, I will write this article based on an objective analysis based on my own personal experiences over 35 years of study.

Also, I will apply my experience of Satori, Nirvana, enlightenment, whatever you want to call it, basically liberation from this body for a period of time in the spiritual realm, and how I achieved it, to drive home the point of this article.

Based on that information, I have come to determine the correlation between spiritual teachings and my experience, and how other people can also achieve that experience.

Let’s go back to the teachings. In multiple teachings, the concept of the seven sins in Christianity is practically the same in the Hermetic and Gnostic teachings, among others. I won’t go into the full details of the creation myth, but will instead focus on the part of the mythology that is relevant to our lives.

They all speak of God the Maker of this Universe. God the Maker created seven gods, each with his own qualities. Each one of those gods gave a portion of his own quality to man, to the human, who is a mixture of material and spiritual. Those qualities are the same as the seven sins.

Basically we are made of these seven negative qualities, clouding the essence of our pure spiritual essence.

In Gnostic and Hermetic teachings, the image is that the seven gods are, or reside in, the seven planets, forming seven spheres, outside the orbit of the earth.

The job of each of these gods is to keep humans trapped on earth, the lowest part of the universe. They do this by clouding our pure spiritual essence with their qualities.

If one could go through those seven spheres and pass beyond those seven gods, one would reach God the Maker, the one who made this universe. Once you reach that state of oneness with God, there is more, but let’s get there first.

The vital question is; How can we pass through those seven spheres? The answer is simply by overcoming the control that the seven qualities have over our lives.

In order to be successful in clearing qualities, we must understand why they are created and placed upon us.

These qualities are the fences that trap us here on earth, and in the endless loop of your repeated mistakes.

You may have noticed that you can be self-destructive in your behavior and find it difficult to avoid putting your foot in your mouth. That often results in ruining your relationships, work, life, etc. If you want your life to change, you have to overcome these seven qualities.

The principle is, based on my personal experience, and I am sure the countless experiences of other people who have reached the state of spiritual awakening, that a profound experience occurs only when the mind is totally at peace and abandons all attachment and clinging to any thing in this world.

The renunciation of desires is not entirely accurate. In reality, it is ego and the childish demand that things go the way you want, regardless of how unworthy you are or how impossible it is.

The qualities are: lust, gluttony, anger, pride, envy, laziness and greed. I must make it clear that you should not take them literally in all cases. For example, lust is not just about sex. It is about bestiality, adultery, rape, in a nutshell, the use of sex that causes harm to others or to yourself. Otherwise, there is nothing wrong with sex, unless it controls your actions. I will not detail the seven sins, you can look them up on the Internet.

Thinking about the seven qualities, you will see that they all make you lose your mind. You are so caught up in aiming for that quality, there is no way your mind can be peaceful or detached.

All qualities are connected to some form of attachment to things or a human experience of sensation in the joy of sex, the joy of overeating delicious food, the blindness that comes with rage and anger, etc.

The way to achieve freedom is to overcome these seven qualities, which allows us to cross the seven borders that trap us on earth in the limited human condition. The goal is to go beyond the seven gods and reach God the Maker.

You can imagine what a real gem you would be if you had overcome the seven qualities that we would call very negative. That is the person who is a true Human Being, and admired as much as desired, by all.

This means that there is only one logical way to find happiness and achieve a spiritual awakening, or even a wonderful life, and basically it is the only point that has any value for our human existence.

If you want to free yourself from the qualities that cloud your essence, the daily exercise is to review the five questions before going to sleep regarding where you have allowed those seven qualities to control your thoughts, feelings and actions that day.

What did I do right today?

What did I do that I shouldn’t have done?

What didn’t I do that I should have done?

What did I do that I could have done better?

What do I want to do tomorrow?

As you ask yourself these five questions to review your day every night, you should also spend every moment of your day in self-observation and self-reflection to see if, before you speak or act, you are going to be one of those seven qualities.

As you overcome each of these qualities, your mind can reach a state of complete peace and detachment from the stresses of life.

DESTINATION

A discussion of this nature would not be complete without talking about Destiny. In some traditions, it is thought that Fate is set for your life, but that contradicts the concept of freedom of choice. Either you can choose your actions or what you will do is already determined and fixed.

According to the concept of the seven gods, Fate is the combination of the seven. It works based on; if you let greed run rampant in you, you will most likely repeatedly cheat and steal or be very stingy. That character gives you a reputation that is extremely unattractive, so it will be your destiny to never have a good personal relationship and never trust your work.

Each of the qualities, if left unchecked, will form one’s personality, and based on that personality, one will face the results of their actions, which is called; Fate, or Karma.

Destiny is not set for your life. It is only fixed based on your personality at the moment. If you can change and remove any of the qualities, your destiny will also change. I have changed my destiny and the destiny of many other people in this way. It can be done, and in this way, you become the owner of your life and your future.

Why am I saying all this? Because life sucks! And, it’s getting worse every day. With this virus, life is going to change with many social distancing restrictions and limitations, and it will never be the same again.

The world is coming to an end in the sense of our right to move freely, to think for ourselves, to choose how we want to interact socially.

Now is the time that we have to do something to give meaning to our life, to find some purpose, some point to go on living without simply shutting down and allowing those negative qualities to increase with the new restrictions on our right to live, to the point where the one we provoke another revolution or world war.

The gods have taken away our freedom of choice and cloud us with their qualities to trap us, governments are taking away all our human rights, the world is stealing what little threads of humanity we have left.
