1. Grandma’s Favorite
Ingredients:
Organic Poha – 2 tablespoons
Warm milk – ½ cup
Ground jaggery or sugar – 1 teaspoon
Banana – ½ chopped [optional]
Combine all of the above to make a natural cereal that is very easy to digest. A favorite of our grandmothers’ generation, it works well as a breakfast food and is also great for young children.
2. Sweet Potato Poha
A ubiquitous breakfast dish, Batata Poha is best served hot with buttered toast!
Ingredients:
Organic Poha – 1½ cups
Potato – 1, cut into 1-inch slices
Onion – 1 finely chopped
Green chili – 1 finely chopped
Curry leaves – 8 – 10 finely chopped
Green coriander leaves – 2 tablespoons, finely chopped
Oil – 2 tablespoons
Mustard seeds – ½ teaspoon
Salt to taste
Turmeric powder – ½ teaspoon
Lemon juice – 1 teaspoon
Sugar – 1 teaspoon
Milk – 1 tablespoon
Method:
A. Wash and drain the Poha and keep covered for about 15 minutes.

Ingredients:
Poha – 1 cup
Potato – 2 medium, boiled and mashed
Beans – 8 -10 chopped
carrots – 1 chopped
pear – ½ cup
Onion – 1 finely chopped
Green chili – 1 finely chopped
Ginger and garlic paste – 1 teaspoon
Red chili powder – ½ teaspoon
Amchoor or dried mango powder – ½ teaspoon
Soy nuggets – 2 tablespoons powder
Coriander leaves – 2 tablespoons
Salt to taste
Garam Masala – ¼ teaspoon
Roasted peanuts – 1 tablespoon coarsely ground
Shallow frying oil
Method:
A. Wash and drain the Poha well and keep covered.

Ingredients:
Organic Poha – 1½ cups
Jaggery – ¾ cup
Melted cow butter – 5 tablespoons
Almonds – 10-15 chopped into small pieces

A. Roast organic poha in a heavy-bottomed pan until crisp and grind into a coarse powder.
b. Add jaggery and continue to grind until well blended.
