How much is your domain worth? The best domain appraisal sites

All good things must come to an end, and this also applies to high-ranking websites. Sometimes it just doesn’t make sense to keep them, simply because there is nothing left to explore. But just because a site is about to shut down doesn’t mean it should go to waste.

One way to profit from a closed site is to sell the domain name.

Of course, before selling your domain name, you will first need to notify your registrar or web hosting company to make sure you are not violating the terms of your contract.

The next question to ask yourself is how do you know the value of a domain name? A good place to start would be to check with an appraisal site. These are basically sites that evaluate the value of domain names. Here is a list of the most trusted appraisal sites:

  1. Stowage

This is one of the most trusted appraisal sites in the industry. It claims to perform 1.8 million appraisals every day.

Estibot’s results page contains various details of the domain (domain, SLD and keyword) down to its estimated value. One of the most useful pieces of information on the results page is the availability of the domain name in various TLDs. Other information that the results page displays includes the average search result and traffic ranking.

  1. INDEX DOMAIN

Another free public service appraisal site, DOMAININDEX also offers one of the most detailed results pages. Domainindex is one of the few sites that tracks the development of the domain’s price level, indicated by a line graph.

For those who want more comprehensive results, they can subscribe to any of their evaluation packages. Its starter pack, which allows users seven assessments a day, is absolutely free. There are three other paid packages in which users can receive alerts, free updates, and wallet.

  1. Assess

As with DOMAININDEX, users can also enroll in an initial evaluation package with five appraisals as a limit.

Apart from the usual details (eg value, rank, searches), this site also shows the Alexa rank. This is a ranking system created by alexa.com that measures the number of visits to each site. On valuate.com, the Alexa rank is displayed along the Traffic column.

These are just three of the top appraisal sites. If you want a more complete analysis of the value of your domain, a good idea is to use multiple sites and base your decision on the average.

The next step is to find a buyer who is willing to pay the price you set. There are several sites where you can sell your domain name, namely NamePros, DNForum, Y Silk.
