Burning plastic causes cancer, sexual orientation problems and respiratory diseases

Smoke from burning plastic contains toxic particles; these toxic particles can cause cancer when inhaled. When these burned particles fall back to the ground, they contaminate the soil for many years and can make vegetables and fruits grown in gardens in these areas unsafe to eat.

Separate plastic from other rubbish to be burned and dispose of it safely. Pigs, goats and chickens that eat grass or food scraps contaminated with dioxins from burned plastic will transmit it to humans when these animals eat it.

Open burning of plastic waste is simply dangerous to your health and the health of the environment. Plastic such as PVC (polyvinyl chloride) is common in products such as: bottles, jugs, plastic containers, and plastic grocery bags. When these plastics burn, carbon monoxide, dioxins, and furans are released into the air. Studies have linked dioxins and furans to cancer and respiratory diseases, especially in children, since their respiratory systems may not be fully developed. It also causes birth defects in the respiratory and cardiovascular systems when inhaled by a pregnant mother.

Dioxin is a toxic organic chemical that contains chlorine and is produced when chlorine and hydrocarbons are heated to high temperatures.

INHALATION OF DIOXINS OR EXPOSURE TO FUMES CAN CAUSE FATAL DISEASE.

These toxic components inhaled with the smoke from burning plastic materials can cause hormonal and sexual orientation problems in your newborn child, as a result, the child may begin to exhibit behavior in stark contrast to his or her sex: a man who acts like a woman or vice versa.

Researchers have established that the inhalation of burned plastic materials has altered the sexual characteristics of some birds (from male to female). They have also revealed that the same defects can easily occur in humans. Plastics should never be burned outdoors, there are recycling options available for the disposal of these waste products.

Dioxins and furans can also cause impotence, asthma, and many other allergies in humans. Medical reports show exceptionally low sperm counts in young men compared to older generations. Testicular cancer has increased by 55% between 1979 and 1991 and fewer children are born in areas where plastic burning is practiced. Some girls reach puberty earlier than previous generations, this can also be the result of breathing in dioxins and furans.

DO YOURSELF AND THE WORLD A FAVOR.

STOP BURNING PLASTIC NOW! If your neighbor is burning plastic, please report it to your health department.
