The Story Behind Integrity Toys Fashion Royalty Line

Integrity Toys is one of the companies on the market today that produces a wide selection of fashion dolls. The collections available are reminiscent of haute couture, the glamor of Hollywood’s golden age, and other haute couture themes of the modern era. The dolls are mostly ball-jointed and each has its own exquisite array of wardrobes. Integrity Toys had hired Jason Wu as a freelance doll clothes designer when he was still sixteen years old. Jason Wu later created the Integrity Toy doll collection Fashion Royalty and was later named Integrity Toys Creative Director a year later.

The story behind the Fashion Royalty line revolves around the competition between two large cosmetic companies fighting for market shares in the European market and ultimately for world dominance. Their world had become increasingly challenging with the entry of a third large company ready to complicate the competition. Thus, the collectors of the Fashion Royalty line will get to know the companies “W” (owned by Veronique Perrin), “V” (formed by Baroness Agnes Von Weiss) and Missima Cosmetics (directed by Natalie Fatale).

For doll collectors interested in fashion and creative design, the characters in Fashion Royalty will provide inspiration. Famous people in this line are Veronique Perrin, Vanessa Perrin, Adele Makeda, Isha, Luchia Z., Baroness Agnes Von Weiss, Kyori Sato, Natalia Fatale, Eugenia Perrin Frost, Darius Reid, Pierre DeVries and Francisco Leon. Jason Wu’s Fashion Royalty Collection was first unveiled at the International Toy Fair in February 2001 in New York City. Every year there is an exciting new look for almost every character with new online wardrobes. One accessory that should be part of every collector’s lineup is the portfolio of story cards – only 1,000 of these were produced.

In 2009, the Future Perfect Collection was introduced with a cool new feature. The dolls’ bodies came with a “hands-free system” in which the hands can be removed to facilitate costume change. They also came with additional hands that are raised to hold with accessories. In 2010, Integrity Toys launched the Foundation Dazzle collection, showcasing 1960s haute couture and fashions for W Cosmetics’ new fashion ad campaign. The sophisticated look of this collection reminds collectors of the original inspiration for these dolls that is Gene Marshall.

Jason Wu Fashion Royalty doll collectors will never fail to get excited about the introduction of new lines and repaints every year. Each year, there is also a limited edition doll set from 180 figures to a maximum of a thousand figures produced for a single character or design. Therefore, collectors of the series are sure to appreciate the exclusivity and rarity of some doll models perhaps after a decade or so.
