The key to happiness (poetic prose)

Have you ever felt so happy, that you thought the world was perfect and that nothing could dim your joy? Have you ever felt so alone that perhaps a timid and tremulous tear appeared in the window of your soul? Have you ever wondered why? Why can’t we control those feelings? They attack us by surprise, flooding our world, plunging us into an endless sea of confusion and gloom. We all dream of a life without pain, sadness or stress; most people think it’s a utopia out of a fictional movie or the mind of a poet.

The key to happiness is real, are you ready to pay the price, unravel the mystery, track down the treasure, kick the stones and come out into the light?…follow me, it’s not that far away….it will tell you what everything is treated; step by step I hope to guide you towards a more pleasant life; just read and meditate on these golden rules that I am pointing out to you: please come out of your shell and stop feeling sorry for yourself. Stop longing for what you don’t have. Forget about the past, be it good or bad. Stop thinking about the days to come; stay here right now. Don’t lock yourself up at home watching the hours slip away from the clock. Get up and live, this time it’s worth trying your best. Start enjoying the things that are in your hands. It may be the precious happiness that you haven’t found yet, but for sure… you will live an easier life.

Take my hand, let’s think together, dream like a child, don’t be shy… I have a bike, I don’t have a car, I’ll go for a walk in the park. I have no money, but I have someone who can lend me a few dollars. I may not have beauty, but I have a brilliant mind. I have no family, but I have many kind friends who can give me good advice. You may lack many things… even health, but you have a life. You always have something, just look on the bright side. Suddenly, some keywords came to mind: faith, patience, wisdom, deep thought, self-confidence, and never giving up. You don’t need to be beautiful, rich or a genius; you don’t even need a lot of health, friends, family, or even love, to be happy. Happiness is within you and you can feel it at any time. The key to happiness is in your heart, and it is not a fairy tale, nor magic, nor a work of art. You can get it easily, you don’t have to be very smart.
