All about the clothes of money: its origin and today

Don’t be fooled by the word “money clothes”. It’s not the garage sale or off-the-shelf sale that makes you buy a bunch of new clothes at half the prices. With the new age fashion culture of throwing away faster than you wear, this is the current trend. However, we are talking about a completely different style of clothing here.

‘Money’ is a men’s clothing brand that started in 2003 to offer men’s clothing that was a combination of great taste, style and authentic material. It was started by Nick Cordell and Melvyn DeVilliers in 2003. A third designer, Japanese Takashi ‘Maru’ Marujo, joined them in 2004. The clothing line initially started with men’s t-shirts and hoodies, but has now branched out. to all types of men’s clothing, including knitwear and jeans. Jeans have the unique quality of having real money stored inside the back pocket (hence the name) depending on the country where you buy them, for example, a dollar if you buy them in America or a euro if you buy them in Europe.

Money clothing has a unique Japanese quality, evident in the finish of its garments and the material used to make them, and can be attributed to the trio’s Japanese designer, Marujo. All the clothes carry contemporary designs and can be called clothes that take the pulse of the current generation, particularly their choice to wear clothes that make them look “cool”, which in popular language means one that is carefree and one that is not. (or does not want to) conform to socially redundant traditions and practices.

For the reasons above, this brand is for people who have that attitude and who want their clothes to reflect their way of thinking.

‘Money’ has become a famous brand due to the following of popular celebrities like Jay Z and David Beckham, who are great style icons for today’s youth. Money follows all the current trends and translates them into their clothes, making them an instant hit with people. The colors used are also vibrant, in line with the personalities of today’s users.

The blending of two great traditions, Eastern and Western, has given budget clothing a value edge that very few brands can command. There is always something new, fresh and original when two totally different cultures come together. And that when worn is unlike anything you’ve ever worn before.
